The qualifying conditions for medical marijuana access in Maryland are:
"If the patient has a chronic or debilitating disease or medical condition that causes: cachexia, anorexia, wating syndrome, severe or chronic pain, severe nausea, seizures, severe or persistent muscle spasms, glaucoma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), or another chronic medical condition which is severe and for which other treatments have been ineffective." (from the MMCC Patient FAQ)
DC residents can get a medical marijuana card for any condition whatsoever, which is awesome, cuz medical cannabis can help with a lot of different symptoms that aren't always covered under other state's laws.
Virginia residents don't have any condition restrictions, either! But the dispensaries aren't supposed to be open until later 2019.
FEES
Maryland residents must pay $50 to the MMCC for a patient ID card. Existing patients have until April 1 2019 to get their ID cards!
DC residents must pay $100 to the District's Dept of Health along with their application. The fee for low-income patients is $25.

BUT I LIVE IN VIRGINIA!
I have awesome news for you, then! You can register as a patient in Virginia now. The dispensaries are tentatively scheduled to open late 2019, barring sharknados or, worse, bureaucracy. Duh duh duh!
The news only gets worse from there. In Virginia, it is still not legal to possess cannabis, which puts the dispensaries and you, the patient, in a legal gray area (welcome to the party, hardyharhar).
You can get a certification from a doctor that you can use for an Affirmative Defense in court if you get arrested (which means VA still gets its greedy, greedy fingers on those court fees, baby!) AND if you register as a patient with the state ($50). VA NORML's page can guide you to doctors that are registered to provide your certification- Veriheal doesn't operate in Virginia currently.
After all that, when the dispensaries open, they're only allowed to sell CBD and THCA oil within allowable ratios, which means no flowers. However, the law was recently amended to specifically allow lollipops, lozenges, capsules, sprays, creams and lotions. So ingestibles and topicals.
