Bad news, everyone. As of today, the clarification from MPD after the recent pop-up raids regarding what is and is not allowed regarding Initiative 71 means that there won’t be any further reviews of the concentrate, vape cartridges, or edibles from DC besides what’s available from the medical marijuana program on the site, at least until the law can be updated to allow these necessary medicines. On account of nobody having them here since the police say they're illegal, which pretty much makes them illegal unless you want to fight it out in court, which I do not advise. Some might say there's some fungibility regarding edibles in that statement- I'll leave that to you and your lawyer to figure out. The good news is that flowers will still be allowed and that DC's local growers are really starting to come into their own and there are lots of brands that are in good shape for a flower-only gift situation. One thing I know for a fact is that, just like the velociraptors in Jurassic Park, we will find a way. What I'd really like to see come out of this setback is a greater partnership with our amazing local artists to promote their work with cannabis gifts and greater collaboration with charitable organizations. And we need to make our presence felt at City Hall, to work hand in hand with District leaders to improve the laws (when that's possible) and build a progressive, inclusive industry. This might be a good time for you to invest in a Magical Butter Machine or Levo or something, perhaps watch some YouTube videos about rosin pressing. And the Gentleman will continue to look at DC and Maryland's medical marijuana concentrate products.
